If it's fun, if it's lively, even if it's an advance look at what the commissary is serving for dinner - it'll be on A Briefing with Neelix, the daily infotainment program transmitted throughout Voyager and hosted by chef and galactic jack-of-all-trades Neelix (Ethan Phillips). Encouraged by Ensign Kim (Garrett Wang) to add hard-hitting journalism to his show, Neelix is soon on the trail of an important news tip: Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) has voluntarily left Starfleet and joined a Talaxian convoy. The more Neelix looks into the story, the more he plunges into a deadly game of spy and counterspy. A ground-zero story like this should mean plenty of material for Neelix's next show!

What advice do you give a lovestruck hologram? Doctor (Robert Picardo), the ship's Emergency Medical Hologram, isn't programmed for romance. But the adaptability of his program allows him to experience the pangs of love for the first time when he cares for a Vidiian woman (Susan Diol) in sickbay. Sharing a table in Sandrine's bar. Cuddling in a holographic '57 Chevy. It's all an uncharted realm for the EMH. And it's a short-lived one. The woman he romances is a hologram of the Vidiian, created as a temporary template to allow better treatment of her disease-ravaged real body. But it's enough to convince Doc he truly loves the Vidiian, even when she must return to her decaying form.
