Stardate Unknown After more than 200 years, a legendary Bajoran appears and challenges Sisko's (Avery Brooks) claim to be the Emissary. Sisko agrees to step down and Akorem Laan (Richard Libertini) takes his place and plans to return Bajor to the old ways - including strict adherence to a caste system which restricts people to specific D'jarras or occupations. Fearing that caste-based discrimination will cause Bajor to be excluded from the Federation, Sisko questions the wisdom of the new Emissary's decision. Soon the two are at odds and a deadly event forces Sisko to challenge Akorem's claim. Ultimately, the Prophets will have to decide who is the true Emissary. |

Stardate Unknown At an extradition hearing, the Klingon Empire accuses Worf (Michael Dorn) of firing upon a Klingon civilian transport, killing 441. The Klingon advocate, Ch'Pok (Ron Canada) suggests Worf's lust for combat affected his judgment even though the Defiant was under attack by two Klingon warships at the time. Sisko (Avery Brooks) serves as Worf's defense counsel and fights to prove his innocence, as well as search for the truth. As the case progresses, witnesses reveal that Worf is indeed aggressive and at times violent. More questions arise and though Sisko is suspicious of his adversary and the proceedings, Worf's fate-appears to be sealed. |
