Miraculously, Bashir (Siddig El Fadil) is able to revive Bareil, but as the negotiations begins, it becomes clear that without his help any hope of peace will die. Unfortunately, the experimental drug Bashir used to save Bareil is also destroying his internal organs. To avoid further damage, Bashir suggests he be put in stasis, but Bareil refuses.
