Stardate 47615.2 After the Enterprise scans an ancient comet, alien artifacts begin appearing around the ship. The crew investigates, but is unable to identify the strange objects. Later, Geordi (LeVar Burton) learns that some alien information was downloaded into the ship's computers during the scan. A phaser blast to the comet's outer shell reveals a nearly solid metallic object with strange icons which Data (Brent Spiner) inexplicably, can read. When one of the symbols appears on Data's forehead, he begins to exhibit signs of multiple personalities. Identifying himself as "Ihat", he warns the crew to leave the area or "Masaka" will destroy the ship. Now Picard (Patrick Stewart) must discern who is behind Data's mask before it's too late. |

Stardate 47622.1 The crew is stunned by the suicide of Lt. Kwan (Tim Lounibos), a partial empath who jumped into the plasma stream in Nacelle Control. Troi (Marina Sirtis) and Worf (Michael Dorn) investigate and are baffled as to why the seemingly well-adjusted officer would take his own life. As the two work closely together to solve the mystery, it's clear that they both have hidden feelings for each other. When Troi experiences an empathic echo in Nacelle Control, it leads to the discovery of a human skeleton hidden behind a panel As Troi's empathic visions bring her closer to identifying the killer, jealousy and rage spiral out of control - and threaten to push her beyond the brink of reality. |
