Stardate 44161.2 While the Enterprise is docked at Starbase 133, Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) welcomes aboard a dear, aging friend, Dr. Dalen Quaice (Bill Erwin). Meanwhile, her son Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton) performs an experiment on the warp engines. When Dr. Crusher visits Wesley in the midst of the experiment, a bright flash of light occurs. At first nothing appears to be wrong, but the Dr. Crusher discovers that Dr. Quaice has disappeared. Not only is he gone from the ship, but nobody has any memory of him. Soon the crewmembers of the Enterprise begin to disappear as well, but Dr. Crusher is the only one who notices anything is wrong. A powerful vortex of light appears and nearly pulls Dr. Crusher in. On the other side of the vortex, Wesley is desperately trying to bring her back to the real Enterprise, where she is the only one missing. |

Stardate 44215.2 When the Enterprise responds to a distress signal from a Federation freighter, it leads them to Turkana IV, birth planet of their late comrade Tasha Yar. The freighter crew has been forced down onto the planet and the men are being held underground by the Alliance, one of the two warring factions fighting for control of the planet. The rival faction, the Coalition, contacts the Enterprise and assigns Ishara Yar (Beth Toussaint), Tasha's sister, to help them find the captured men. Once on the Enterprise, Ishara proves to have extensive knowledge of how to penetrate the Alliance's defenses. As the crew prepares for the rescue mission, Ishara befriends Data (Brent Spiner) and tells him she would like to leave Turkana IV and attend Starfleet Academy. She has begin to gain the trust of the crew, but has she really given up her allegiance to the Coalition? |
