Stardate 43779.3 Picard (Patrick Stewart) receives orders to beam up Tam Elbrun (Harry Groener), a Betaziod who specializes in first contact with life-forms. The starship is to transport Tam to a distant star system to contact Tin Man, an alien intelligence that resembles a spaceship. The crew's mission is to intercept Tin Man before the Romulans, who may try to destroy the life-form. When the Enterprise arrives in the Tim Man's star system, the starship is attacked by a Romulan Warbird. Without warning, Tam sends a telepathic warning to Tin Man, which destroys the Warbird and seriously damages the Enterprise. Tam pleads with Picard to let him beam aboard Tin Man. But can Picard trust this dangerous stranger who almost caused the destruction of the Enterprise? |
